In the North of Amsterdam, located at the NDSM wharf, you find a huge old ship building hall which in which a big flea market emerges every 4 weeks during the weekend. This market is the so called IJ-Hallen markt.
People from everywhere can sell their old stuff, new stuff, as amateurs, as professionals, etcetera, etcetera. To get a stall at the IJ-Hallen markt, you can make a reservation - costs vary from €29 till €35 per day.
This huge market is located inside and outside of the hall. Inside you can find clothes, jewelry and antiques and curiosa whereas outside you find more furniture-like stuff.
Going here is a great day activity in the weekends. Especially when you just moved into a new apartment or if you are looking for original gifts. Or... when you need to get rid of some stuff and want to earn an extra penny!
You get there by taking the ferry to NDSM-werf from behind central station or from the harbour in West.
